Second Semester Co-op Class News!

We are excited to share the plans for our 2nd semester classes! The following classes will be offered:

Preschool

Lapbooking (K-2nd grade)

Choice of either drama or music (3rd-6th grade)

Science and the Bible (3rd grade and up)

Older students will be able to join the Science and the Bible class and have time to fellowship or to help with a younger class.

The first day of classes will be January 6. Registration will begin at 12:30 for those who did not participate in Acorns to Oaks first semester. If you were here first semester, just make sure you pay your $35 dues by the second week of classes, January 13. T-shirt order forms will also be available if you need to order t-shirts.

A reminder: if Paoli schools are closed for weather related reasons, co-op classes will also be cancelled for that day.

Mom's Night Out December13th

Acorns to Oaks Fall Talent Night!

Join us for Acorns to Oaks Talent Night on Tuesday November 15, 2011. It will be held at Dogwood Community Church at 6:30 p.m. If your child plans to participate please let Beth or Connie know. Light refreshments and a time of fellowship will follow the performances.

Mom's Night Out November 8

There will be a Mom's Night Out on Tuesday November 8 at 6:30. It will be at the home of Lisa Walerczak. Diana Jones from Harmony & Health will be sharing with us about aromatherapy. We will have the opportunity to make bath salts ($1) and/or a hand sanitizer ($1). Diana is also bringing a compass test that helps to pinpoint vitamin deficiencies. The compass test will be $20 for anyone who is interested in that. Please bring a snack to share. We hope to see you there!

Geography Fair!

Acorns to Oaks will be having our annual Geography Fair October 25, 2011. It will be at Dogwood Community Church at 6:30. There will be a sign up sheet at co-op on Friday. Please sign up by Friday if your family will be participating.

October Field Trip!

We will be viewing a mini museum exhibit at the Mitchell Public Library. Our group will meet in the Children's Department at 1 p.m. on Friday October 28. Hope to see you there!

Mom's Night Out October 3rd

We have an exciting Mom's Night Out scheduled for this coming Monday, October 3rd at 6:30. It will be a Mother-Daughter event at the home of Lisa Walerczak. Nancy Simon's oldest daughter will be sharing her courtship story. Lisa is making chili, please bring a dish to share. Hope to see you there!

Picture Day

Candace Davis Photography will once again be available for a picture day for our group. The date is Friday October 21 from 9-12:30. She will take individual photos or family photos or both, your choice. A price list will be available at the kick off picnic and at class days. August Mom's Night Out

The first Mom's Night Out is planned for Monday, August 29 at 6:30 P.M. We will be meeting at Merri-Ann Kahl's home and learning how to make yogurt, kefir, and cheese. If everyone would please bring a small dessert to share that would be great! If anyone needs directions, please call Amanda or Merri-Ann

September Field Trip

The first field trip is scheduled for September 30. We will meet at Squire Boone Caverns at 1:00 P.M. for a fun afternoon of gem mining, candle dipping, and a cave tour. Price for both students and adult chaperones: $6. For children under the age of 6 who would like to participate in the gem mining and candle dipping, the cost is $4 and the cave tour is free. Children under the age of 6 not participating in the gem mining and candle dipping are free.

2011 Fall Semester Info

The beginning of our fall semester is rapidly approaching! Our kick-off picnic will be held Friday August 26 at 6:00. We will meet at the Jay-Cee Park in Paoli. Please bring food for a pitch-in meal. Table service, tea, water, and lemonade will be provided. At the picnic we will be going over the membership manual as well as classes and activities planned for the fall semester. We look forward to seeing you there for a time of fun and fellowship!

The fee for the 2011-2012 school year will be $35 per family per semester. We are asking those participating in our group this year to wear an Acorns to Oaks t-shirt to class days and field trips. Paul Walerczak is coordinating a t-shirt order. The cost is $5.50 per shirt without a name, or $8.50 per shirt with a name added to the back. The green Acorns to Oaks t-shirts that were ordered last year can be worn also.

Children under six who will be participating in the hands-on demonstrations will be $4. There is no charge for children too young to participate in the demonstrations. Acorns to Oaks 2011 Kick-off Picnic




It's time for the Acorns to Oaks Kick-off Picnic!

When: Friday August 26, 2011 at 6 p.m.
Where: Jay-Cee park in Paoli (In the event of rain we will meet at Dogwood Community Church)

At the picnic we will be going over the membership packet and answering any questions you may have. We will also share the details for the fall co-op classes.

Membership packets and class information have been sent out via email. If you did not receive this information please contact Shanna Johnson.

If you have questions that you would like answered now, a member of the board would be happy to talk with you. Board members are Jeff and Larissa Brock, Micah and Whitney Dunahee, Brian and Angela Ferguson, Aaron and Shanna Johnson, and Paul and Lisa Walerczak.
